Ditching ETS to cost households

According to a report that will be put before the Prime Minister and state leaders today at the final COAG for 2016, the emissions intensity scheme that the Government has ruled out could have saved households a total of up to $15 billion over the next decade.

The analysis by Frontier Economics found that, depending on electricity use and the emissions targets set, costs could be between $3.4 billion and $15 billion lower for households.
