iPhone 8 expected within weeks

According to The Wall Street Journal and popular technology websites including CNET, the new iPhone 8 could be released as soon as September 12.

Rumours of new technology changes are ripe and expectations are that the Touch ID of the current models will be replaced by a facial recognition unlock system similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy 8.

Leaked pictures from a popular Chinese website reveal that both wireless charging components and a large OLED screen covering more of the phone’s front face are being installed on the iPhone 8.

Unconfirmed improvements to the iPhone 8 include shatter-resistant glass, faster processors, improved 3D graphics, better front and rear cameras, smudge detection and always rumoured but hardly ever delivered – better battery life.

The iPhone 8 is expected to be released at the same time as the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus. The iPhone 8 is expected to retail for around $1265 in Australia and will most likely be in short supply.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to the iPhone 8 or does it sound like the same phone from five years ago with some very minor unnecessary upgrades? Will you be looking to upgrade?
