Travelling with kids? You need this

While it may have been a while since you last embarked on a family holiday with your own kids, that doesn’t mean you’re in the clear when it comes to travelling with children in general. Grandkids, godkids, there’s bound to be the pitter patter of small feet in your life, or in the life of someone you know, which is why we had to share this brilliant gadget.

Designed to replace car booster seats, the mifold will revolutionise the way children travel in cars. Every bit as safe as the traditional booster seats, rather than lifting a child up to be in the position of an adult in the car, the mifold holds the seatbelt down using three red clips. The first aligns the chest strap with the child’s shoulder and the second two hold the lap belt on the child’s hip bones.

More than 10 times smaller than a normal bulky booster seat, it allows you to fit three children in a row across the back seat. Other advantages include its ability to be taken anywhere and used in any car, including rental cars and taxis – a huge win over the regular booster seat when it comes to travelling.

Made from upper tough plastic polymers and aircraft aluminium, the foam padding makes for a comfortable seat and ensures the whole device is easy to clean. With three width settings of small, medium and large, the mifold is suitable for children aged four to 12.

Folding up to a compact 10-x-5 inches, it can fit into any glove box or backpack, making it the essential companion for any trip involving children and cars … not to mention a great Christmas gift when it finally becomes available in Australia.
