Top cellulite fixes

Cellulite is normal. Many women have it on their thighs, bottoms or tummies. However, you can take these five healthy steps to help these zones be dimple free.

1. Exercise

You knew there was going to be exercise, right? It is one of the best things for decreasing cellulite. While it doesn’t make cellulite disappear, having strong muscles under lumpy flesh can make your skin look a lot smoother.

2. Eat wholefoods

Of course, along with exercise, diet is going play a role too. Eat fibre-rich foods – such as whole grains, fruit and vegetables – instead of processed foods, which have empty calories, such as white or refined carbs found in many breads, baked and packaged goods. That’s because these foods result in fat deposits especially around cellulite-prone areas.

3. Lose some weight

You can have cellulite whether you’re skinny or curvy, but extra weight can make it more visible. So if you’re carrying a few more kilos than you should, see if you can shed a few. However, go slowly, as yo-yo dieting can make cellulite look worse.

4. Quit smoking

Smoking reduces the blood supply to your skin, which means your skin doesn’t get nourished properly. Without oxygenated blood and nutrients, your skin becomes thinner and more likely to sag. This can make the cellulite on your arms, thighs, and bottom more visible. If you smoke, and wish to quit, talk to your doctor or pharmacist about the quitting method that’s best for you.

5. Massage the dimples

Massage improves blood flow to the skin and gets rid of excess fluid, which may make the dimples less noticeable for a while. Why not take a few extra minutes each day to firmly massage trouble spots? Try it in the shower (or just before you hop in with dry body brushing) or when you smooth on lotion.
