Funny foreigner’s fake tourism vid

A funny foreigner has put together a fake tourism video that pokes fun at Australian methods for steering clear of dangerous animals on Queensland beaches.

From crocodiles, snakes and spiders, to the quaint names we call deadly marine creatures, New Zealand comedian Chris Drabble has a laugh at how there was “no prettier place to perish than Queensland”.

He also has a crack at how we warn tourists about the dangers that may await them on our shores. When talking about the dangers of swimming with crocodiles at some of our beautiful beaches, he jokes: “You’d think there’d be signs everywhere in this tourist hotspot, right? Nah, there’s just one. And some beaches don’t even have any because they mainly use word of mouth around here.”

Sit back and have a laugh at our own expense. Or are we really laughing at how soft our cross-ditch neighbours are? You decide!

Do you think we’re a bit lax about our warnings? Have you ever swum in croc-infested waters, or when stingers are out and about?
