About Us

About Seniors website was launched in September 2000 as the brainchild of Ged and Judy Lawrence, who were supported technically by their son, Greg. When Ged sadly passed away, About Seniors was purchased by Indigo Arch Publishing Pty Ltd in July 2005. Since then, About Seniors has continued to grow through an active and supportive subscriber base. About Seniors has followed Ged and Judy’s initial concept of providing independent, up-to-date information for those approaching retirement, in retirement and their families. The website has evolved considerably and in early 2010 it was decided that the website would mirror the format and content of its sister print magazine, YourLifeChoices. To streamline the process of publishing the magazine, website and associated enewsletters and to allow the focus to remain on independent and current information for a broader range of readers, those 45+, About Seniors migrated to its new branding, YourLifeChoicesSimplifying retirement.

Here at YourLifeChoices, we’ve decided that the new year is a great time to embrace change and focus on what is important in life. Many of these changes are in response to your answers to the surveys we conducted in 2015, so we hope you’re happy to come along with us for the journey.

This year it’s all about 'simplifying' – simplifying retirement, that is. You’ve told us that there’s not enough comprehensible information and support available to help you live an enjoyable and, most importantly, affordable retirement. Regardless of what constitutes retirement for you, we’re here to simplify the process by helping you understand your rights and options, and by explaining the complex issues of retirement funding.

Don’t worry, you’ll still be kept up-to-date with all the latest Age Pension news, changes to legislation which may affect your payments and retirement income, and the latest news that is most relevant. We’ll still have the same useful health, travel and technology updates and remember, you’re welcome to have your say by commenting on our articles and posting on the Meeting Place.

Kaye Fallick - Publisher

Kaye trained and worked as a fashion designer for 14 years. During two years' timeout for travel, she caught the writing bug when hired as a features assistant for a London magazine. On her return to Australia, she decided the combination of writing and travel was the way to go. But no-one can accuse her of quick career changes – a part-time arts degree took the maximum 10 years to complete, as did the Diploma of Writing and Editing that followed. Kaye is the publisher of YourLifeChoices magazine and website.

David Fallick - Advertising Manager

David’s two years in the public service convinced him that there could be a better way to spend his days than auditing seagulls. Stumbling into advertising sales (thanks to his former wife’s boss) and being a bear of somewhat limited imagination, he’s persevered with this pursuit despite considerable sage counsel that he should cease and desist. So it’s been forty years of roller-coasting through all aspects of advertising and, more recently, publishing with highlights such as being the founding publisher of BRW and Personal Investor followed a few years later with the same role at Time Australia. Tiring of corporate politics and endless meetings, in 1988 he established Indigo Arch Publishing to explore “self-employment” (ie, easing into retirement) and custom publishing. YourLifeChoices evolved (tortuously) from this company and David is proud of his glacial transition from print to the new-fangled online media which, he hopes, is not just another flash in the pan!
