Simple Banana Slice

With aromatic sweet spices of cinnamon and nutmeg, our Simple Banana Slice makes for a tasty afternoon tea. Slice and freeze to enjoy throughout the week. Toast under a grill to defrost and enjoy warm.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 60g butter
  • 1 banana, mashed
  • 1/4 cup warm milk
  • 1 egg

 

Method

Preheat oven to 180°C. In a bowl, sift the flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add the sugar then butter and milk and stir. Add the egg and banana and combine. Spoon the mixture into a slice tin and bake for 25 minutes. Allow to cool before slicing.
