Get Set – Go Bake – and WIN!

Baking has seen a resurgence during the pandemic and has become one of the more popular activities among Australians young and old.

In the June 2020 YourLifeChoices Peace of Mind in Retirement survey, around one third of those polled spent more time in the kitchen during lockdowns.

For many, sharing baking tips and recipes online has become the flavour of the day.

But if you’re bored with banana bread and are looking for a chance to show off your baking chops to the rest of the country, then Apia’s Get Set Go Bake competition is for you.

Highly regarded, professional chef Matt Golinski will create one dish every fortnight – five dishes in all – and will encourage you to recreate it with a twist to win a Delicious Magazine subscription and a $200 grocery voucher to either Coles, Woolworths or Harris Farm.

Well known as one of the original team members of the popular Ready Steady Cook television series, Matt has a passion for creating cuisine using fresh, seasonal and local ingredients.

He’s worked as executive chef at some of Queensland’s leading restaurants over his 30-year career and now enjoys working as a consulting chef to restaurants, being a regular guest chef at festivals and events and writing his popular food columns and blog.

Matt’s first challenge for you is a long-time staple of dessert baking – Bread and Butter Pudding.

It’s an icon of British cuisine rumoured to have originated in the 1800s, and while it’s gone through many iterations and variations throughout the ages, it may very well have reached its peak with Matt’s Blueberry, White Chocolate, Brioche and Butter Pudding.

Matt’s version is a French twist on a traditional English dish, but Apia wants you to add your own twist to this classic, enter the Get Set Go Bake competition – and win.

Simply follow Apia on Facebook, find the brioche recipe video – or any of the recipes that follow – create your own version and share in the comments section of the video for your chance to win.

The top five entries for each recipe will be selected by Apia and shared with Matt who will personally select the winners.

The Brioche and Butter Pudding competition finishes on 19 August, so you have the weekend to perfect your entry. But if you can’t get baking before then, don’t worry, you can enter the next round the following week.

There’s a new competition each fortnight over the next 10 weeks. So, are you ready to Get Set and Go Bake?
