Keep your brain active by challenging people with this great trivia app and save data with a lightweight internet browser, getting the most out of your device.
Trivia Crack
Incredibly addictive, Trivia Crack is one of the recent social apps to hit the market. It allows you to challenge friends or strangers to a quiz challenge. Once in a challenge, answering questions correctly works you towards winning a character that corresponds to one of the app’s six categories: science, entertainment, art, geography, sports and history. The first to win all six characters wins the match, but you can try and steal characters to get back in the lead. All the questions are crowd sourced, so you can come up with your own and submit them to the app. With millions of users all over the world and over 100,000 questions, Trivia Crack will keep your boredom at bay.
Available for free on iPhone, iPad, Android, Facebook and Windows Phone.
Although Opera Mini looks like a standard internet browser, it has some incredible features built within, which can save you plenty of data. By compressing web data and images before sending them to you, Opera Mini can save you up to 90 per cent of your usage, as well as make several pages load quicker at the same time. With this and an easy-to-use interface, it’s a great choice as a web browser when you’re out and about, preventing you from wasting your internet data. Other useful features include Facebook integration and a night mode, which lets you turn your brightness down even further to help your eyes relax whilst using a smartphone or tablet at night.
Available for free on iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone and plenty of older devices.
Have you discovered any great apps recently? Why not let us know in the comments?
There are a lot of free apps available for just about everything for both Android and iOS. We have Apple iPads and laptop so “shop” in the AppStore. Two of the freebies we use a lot are Weatherzone (a BOM app) and OzTV which is a very good and comprehensive TV guide for anywhere and everywhere in Australia. Both of these you can localise for your convenience. There is a company called Appgratis which you can join for nothing, and quit at anytime, and they will email you apps which are free or discounted every morning.
