Sydney – world’s friendliest city

Melbourne may be the world’s most liveable city, but it seems that readers of luxury magazine, Condé Nast Traveller, think Sydney is the friendliest city for visitors.

And in a further blow for Melbourne, which was voted number one last year, it failed to make it in to the top 10, whereas Sydney climbed from fifth to take out top spot.

The usual Sydney suspects featured as highlights for visitors, with tours of the harbour and the Harbour Bridge Climb both firm favourites.

What is perhaps surprising is that Dublin, which hangs its whole reputation on being friendly and welcoming, came in second.

The annual Readers’ Choice Awards survey received over 1 million votes from almost 77,000 entries.

Here are the top 10 friendliest, and perhaps more importantly, unfriendliest, cities.
