Deals of the Week – post-Easter exercise, eating and travel

Many Australians are now in ‘Easter recovery mode’. That will mean different things to different people, but for some it will mean recovery from an Easter egg overindulgence.

And what better way to start that recovery than exercise? At catch.com.au there are some exercise specials that could help you get started.

catch.com.au

Until midnight next Tuesday (9 April, 11:59pm AEST) catch.com.au has some specials on Advwin fitness equipment and exercise footwear. There are two types of mini trampolines available for under $100, a mini-stepper exercise machine dropped from $89.99 to $62.99 and a portable exercise bike at just $44.99.

If you’re looking to get really serious, check out Catch’s range of treadmills. These could help you get that step count up and your kilo count down!

Of course, you’ll want to have comfortable and supportive footwear as you step and/or jog those kilos away. Catch has some excellent specials on name brands to give you a hand (or perhaps we should say ‘a foot’!) with that.

There are Adidas, Puma, Nike and Converse sneakers at $50 or under, more than 50 per cent off the recommended price in some cases.

Woolworths

Over at Woolies, those on a post-Easter health kick can take advantage of half-price specials on a range of Swisse vitamins. These include Swisse Ultiboost magnesium tablets at $23 (200-pack, normally $46), Women’s 50+ multivitamins ($20 for a 60-pack) and a 45-pack of Probiotic & Prebiotic Gummies for just $15.

Woolies has also dropped the price of a range of fresh foods for autumn. The Heinz frozen Steam Fresh vegetable range has been reduced from $4.50 to $4.00 a pack, while Woolworths’ Australian Heart Smart Beef Stir Fry pieces have dropped from $12 to $10 for 500g.

The price of brown onions, spring onions, lettuce and potatoes are also lower for the new season.

Over in the fridge, Woolies has this week cut prices on Gippsland Dairy Twist yoghurt ($6.30 down from $7.90), Chris’ Homestyle Dips (any two for $7.50, a saving of $1.50) and Mersey Valley cheese at just $6.20 for a 180g block. That’s a $2.50 markdown.

Note: These prices are applicable at Melbourne and Sydney stores until next Tuesday 9 April 2024. Offers may vary depending on your location.

Qantas deals

Some Aussies will feel they need a post-Easter break. If you’re lucky enough to have the time to do so, Qantas has a couple of getaway specials going this week. For Sydneysiders, Qantas has one-way flights to Ballina for just $129, perfect for those who like Byron Bay, and one-way flights to the Gold Coast for $139.

Melburnians can take a trip to Newcastle (Port Stephens) one way for under $150 or to Ballina (Byron) for $283.

If you’re in Adelaide looking to head north, Qantas has a Port Macquarie deal this week that will take you there (one way) for $363 or to Hamilton Island for $397.

Those in Brisbane looking to head the other way can take advantage of a $149 flight to Newcastle, and possibly meet up with friends from Melbourne taking up a similar deal (see above)!

Bear in mind that these Qantas deals all end next Monday, 8 April 2024.
