Ham and Cheese Pastry Puffs

Ham, cheese and mustard is quite possibly one of the tastiest flavour combinations you’ll find, and encasing it in puff pastry just sends it over the top! Our Ham and Cheese Pastry Puffs are bound to please.

Serves: Two

Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 1 cup flour, for rolling
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 6 thin slices of ham
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 large egg yolk, beaten

Method

Preheat the oven to 230°C. On a floured surface, roll the dough and brush it with mustard. Place the ham slices on the bottom half of the dough leaving a 1cm border. Cover the ham with cheese. Fold the top half of the dough over the ham and cheese and press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges. Place the pastry on a baking sheet and brush the egg yolk over the surface. Bake for 20 minutes until the pastry is golden brown. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
