An interesting new study has revealed those who watch more than five hours of television each day are much more likely to need to urinate more than twice during the night, Channel 10 is reporting.

Based on data from more than 13,000 people aged 20 and over collected between 2011 and 2016, scientists determined that those who binge watched a lot of television (five or more hours a day) are more than 48 per cent more likely to develop nocturia – or the need to wake up to urinate more than twice each night.

The link may seem a bit tenuous but the researchers believe a more sedentary lifestyle leads to an increased risk of type 2 diabetes, which can in turn lead to increased urination. Sitting for long periods of time can lead to fluid retention, causing a person to need to urinate more frequently.
