The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has released its weather outlook for March to June and is predicting some ‘unusual’ weather for the autumn period.

Temperatures will be higher than average for the period, with most of the country expected to experience higher daily maximum and minimum temperatures.

“Warmer than usual days and nights are very likely across Australia from March to May,” the Bureau’s statement said.

“Most areas have an increased chance of unusually warm days for March to May.

“Nights also have an increased chance of being unusually warm for many areas.”

The BOM says warm global ocean temperatures caused by El Nino are likely contributing to the forecast of hot conditions.

Rainfall is also expected to be below average during this period.

They can’t get a forecast right relying on the odd satellite. The forecasts were better when they had observers working across the country.
