Last year, Meta agreed to pay $725 million to settle the Cambridge Analytica data privacy lawsuit. Now, an estimated 280 million Facebook users could receive a cash payout – albeit a small one. The only eligibility requirement is that you must have been a member of Facebook between 24 May 2007 and 22 December 2022. Even if you deleted Facebook, you can still collect funds.
Those interested in claiming must fill out an online form by 25 August 2023. The form requires personal information such as full name, address, email, phone number, and payment information. However, this information is only necessary for processing the payout, and users must sign a form stating they are not fabricating any information.
It might be nearly a billion dollars out of Meta’s pocket, but you’ll probably see just a few dollars depending on how many people submit the form.
Will you fill out the form and give Facebook more information? https://facebookuserprivacysettlement.com/#submit-claim
If you haven’t lived in the US you are not eligible!
“Did you reside in the United States at any time between May 24, 2007 and December 22, 2022, inclusive?*”
If you click “No” you will receive the following response:
“You are not eligible to submit a claim.”
