I love fried rice. It’s a dish I’ve never been able to master. Even my wife, who is a great cook, can’t get that same fried rice taste and texture you get from a Chinese or Asian restaurant.
But this five-minute fried rice hack from Seonkyoung Longest comes awfully close.
Here’s the recipe:
INGREDIENTS
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat a wok or a skillet over high heat; add 1 tbsp cooking oil to coat pan. Pour eggs into the wok and scramble.
When the eggs are 3/4 cooked, add remaining 2 tbsp cooking oil and cold jasmine rice. Break down rice and mix it with eggs.
Add soy sauce, but make sure you pour it around the outside of the wok so it ‘burns’ and you get that smoky wok fried flavour (add additional 2 tbsp soy sauce if you want to make this as a main dish).
Add salt to taste and mix. Reduce heat and quickly stir in green onions.
What’s your fried rice secret?
