Apple iPhone users are being warned to check their phones for a sinister app designed to steal your passwords and other important login information.

The fake app has been designed to look like the popular (and legitimate) password managing app LastPass. The fake app was named ‘LassPass’ in the App Store in an attempt to hoodwink users.

Apple has removed the fake LassPass app from the store, but users are advised to check their phones to make sure they haven’t downloaded it by mistake.

The original warning over the fake app came from the legitimate LastPass company itself.

“LastPass would like to alert our customers to a fraudulent app attempting to impersonate our LastPass app on the Apple App Store,” the company said.

“The app attempts to copy our branding and user interface, though close examination of the posted screenshots reveal misspellings and other indicators that the app is fraudulent.”

Do you use the LastPass app?
