Christopher Pyne has been forced to deny speculation that he is angling to be named Defence Minister, a role currently held by Marise Payne.
According to reports in Fairfax Media, a Liberal MP has labelled Mr Pyne a “menace” and stated that he was positioning himself for the Defence Ministry. Mr Pyne, who is currently in Paris, has hit back, saying “Whoever would be saying such a thing is a liar.
“Marise Payne, as everyone knows, is one of my close personal friends, we share a house together in Canberra.”
