Leave the animals alone

It’s the festive season so cue the ubiquitous nude charity calendar, which is all well and good, but do poor defenceless animals really need to be involved?

Students from the University of Sydney veterinary science course have stripped off for a Below the overalls 2016 calendar, with proceeds from the sale going to the We’re for the Bush drought appeal. All sounds fine so far yes? And of course, I’m not against anyone getting their kit off, especially when it’s for as good a cause as our struggling farmers. But when animals are subjected to being placed (too near for comfort in my opinion) in front of dangly body parts to spare the blushes of the young vet students, then I say this is just too much.

I mean, does this sheep look as though it’s having fun? I think not.

And just wait until you see what they did with the fish!

But don’t let me, a grumpy old animal lover, sway your opinion, check out some of the photos on Facebook and let us know what you think.
