Steak Sandwich with Fried Onions and Mustard

Our delicious Steak Sandwich is better than any hamburger you’ve had and will keep you feeling full and satisfied when dining alone. Why not add some extra salad ingredients to make the sandwich healthier?

Serves: One

Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 large onions, peeled and sliced
  • 2 very thin minute steaks, 115g each
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 baguette, toasted
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard

Method

Place a pan on the stove and add half the oil along with the onions. Pan-fry on high heat until golden brown. Move the cooked onions over to the edge of the pan and increase the heat. Add another tablespoon of oil. Season the steaks on both sides with salt and pepper and put them in the pan. Cook for 45 seconds on each side. Turn off the heat and take the steaks out of the pan to rest. Cut your baguette in half and toast on both sides. Spread the lower half of the baguette with butter and mustard. Pile on the onions and slice the steak before putting in sandwich. Put on the top half of toasted baguette and dunk into more mustard while you eat.
