Find the cheapest city to meet in

Catching up with friends or family can be hard enough when you live in the same city, let alone when you find yourself on the other side of the country … or world. While travel is allegedly more accessible than ever, flights, hotels, car hire – it all adds up. As they say, there’s no such thing as a free meal – or holiday, for that reason!

That said, anyone who has loved ones interstate or overseas knows that no amount of money is enough to stand in the way of catching up with them. Thankfully, the good people at Kayak understand this and have developed a tool to make long-distance catch ups as easy and as pain-free for your hip-pocket as possible.

A new tool from the travel search engine Kayak, aptly named Kayak Rendezvous, the concept is simple yet somewhat brilliant. Searching the combined ticket costs, the tool then provides the cheapest destinations at which long-distance family, friends or couples can catch up.

All you need to do is enter both (or all) of your home cities and chosen travel dates, and Kayak Rendezvous will then suggest the best and cheapest destinations in which to meet. Results are displayed with the most economical options first, so if you don’t have a set destination in mind, you can not only see your loved ones but possibly explore a new city or country at the same time.

The answer to taking the hassle out of planning a long-distance catch up, will not only save you money but, if you’re really fond of the other party, may mean you can even see them more often. Mind you, now that you don’t have travel arrangements to fight over, you’ll have to find another topic to bicker about!

Try it for yourself at KAYAK Rendezvous.
