Stars align behind world’s first astrology hotel

astrology hotel

Do you believe in star signs? If so, a new hotel in Sydney may be just up your astrological alley.

The Ultimo touts itself as the world’s first astrological hotel, and features rooms and packages tailored to suit your astrological traits.

The concept was developed in conjunction with noted astrologer Damian Rocks, and the idea is to bring astrology into a contemporary context.

“When you read your star sign, it connects you to parts of yourself that you may not tap into in everyday life. We want guests at the hotel to have that sense of connection," Mr Rocks explained.

When making a booking, guests can reveal their precise date, time and location of birth so hotel staff can tailor their stay according to their star sign.

On arrival, each guest will receive a city guide recommending tailored places to eat, drink and visit around Sydney.

Are you a Pisces? Head to Flying Fish, an Asian-inspired seafood restaurant with water views, or Lentil As Anything, a pay-what-you-feel vegetarian restaurant filled with local art.

Sagittarius guests are advised to eat a wood-fired pizza at Da Orazio in Bondi, or take in the open rooftop at The Glenmore Hotel. To get out and see the city, a Sagittarius should head to the Art Gallery of NSW, take a walk from Spit to Manly, or head for a swim at the North Sydney Olympic Pool.

Among a series of Astrology packages, a personalised star chart, moon calendar and a one-on-one astrology reading with a Stars like You team member are on the cards. Daily horoscopes, zodiac slippers and Astrolo-tea matched to your star sign are also included.

What do you think? What places in Sydney would suit your star sign? Does this type of hotel appeal to you?

Wants to bring astrology into a contemporary context. This is a load of twaddle. How can a lump of rock millions of miles away, but which has been named as a significant object to asrologers have any effect on someone when similar but unnamed rocks are floating around in space. The whole concept is based on a rubbish "science" yet people plan their whole lives by the rantings of some person who would be just as well studying the entrails of a chicken for future events results.

Its a genius marketing tool used to attract different types of customers other than the normal main stream. Much like retro hotels, and other hotels with themes. They are just using something which is mainstream to their advantage. Lets face it, when people like Eckhardt Tolle and Depak Chopra come out here they will likely stay there and they will be charged heaps to stay there and the faithful followers will be charged a lot more per ticket. See genius! Win win for the hotel owners, the promoters, the stars and Hay House who brings them out.
