Travel deal: Experience Antarctica in a day

Become one of the few to witness the desolate beauty of the untamed polar landscape. Aboard a privately chartered aircraft you will experience unparalleled Antarctic viewing, with up to four hours over the white continent.

See the coldest continent on earth without getting frostbite, altitude sickness, or piling on layer upon layer of thick warm clothing. Instead, you can see it in the comfort of a Qantas 787 Dreamliner with a choice of four different seating classes:

  • superior economy class – $3199
  • premium economy class – $3999
  • business class – $6499
  • business class deluxe – $7999.

During the flight, the pilot swoops in figure eight patterns and utilises their vast experience to maximise passengers’ viewing and photography opportunities – no two flights are the same, but you’ll see the continent’s research bases, mountainous peaks and colossal icebergs below.

This extraordinary return flight is approximately 12 to 14 hours long and includes:

  • two full-service meals plus in-flight snacks
  • a full bar service with champagne, wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks
  • learn about Antarctica from scientists
  • meet and mingle with some of the pilots
  • explorer Kit with a map
  • interact with Antarctic explorers and potentially experience a live cross with one of its research stations.

The flight departs Melbourne on 5 December 2021 and 6 February 2022.

You can also experience one of the world’s most unique New Year’s Eve parties ever at no additional surcharge – fly on 31 December 2021 from Sydney and ring in the New Year as you cruise 10,000 feet above sea level and over the continent, all to the sound of a live four-piece jazz band.

Classified as a domestic flight, there is no need for a passport or luggage.

Besides four hours of flight time over the breathtaking frozen continent, there’s also a state-of-the-art entertainment system onboard to enjoy during the rest of your flight.

Subject to availability. Featured prices are per person. Passports are not needed but you will need to present a photo ID. Should your Antarctica flight not be able to depart due to government restrictions on travel, you will receive a full refund.

Antarctica Flights also has seven more flight dates departing other cities, some with more affordable seating classes. Check here for more information and bookings.
