Tiger lifts its game

New routes and air alliances can mean more travel options, so what’s new in the air and on the ground this week?

Tiger lifts its game

Tigerair has announced it will be introducing two new innovations to enhance their customer experience.

Designed by Levarti, Max Airport is a new iPad app aiming to transform the way Tigerair and its customers interact at the airport. Essentially, the industry-leading technology will enable staff to move out from behind the check-in desk and engage with customers anywhere in and around the terminal to check them in, change their seats, print boarding passes and even offer extra legroom with seats or luggage for sale.

With the Tigerair app rolling out over the coming weeks, customers can also look forward to a new, more modern internet-booking engine, which is scheduled to go live this month.

What do you think? Will these technology updates influence your choice of airline for domestic flights?

Joey Club for juniors

Qantas has launched its newest club aimed especially at its tiny travellers. The Joey Club recognises Qantas’ youngest customers, with the goal of making travel experiences for them and their families as engaging and enjoyable as possible.

With children currently the fastest growing segment of the Qantas Frequent Flyer membership base, with the help of The Wiggles, Qantas recently launched the Joey Club in Sydney.

Features of the Joey Club include a novelty passport, special dedicated kids menu in domestic lounges and a larger investment in the children’s inflight entertainment channels. A new family zone was also an addition to the recently refurbished Los Angeles Business Lounge.

Qantas are celebrating the launch of the Joey Club until 31 December 2015 by waiving the normal joining fee of $89.50. If you’re already a Qantas Frequent Flyer member and have a tiny traveller in the family, you can sign them up here.
