Chewy Golden Syrup Flapjacks

A chewy, buttery baking favourite, flapjacks are a great snack-time treat and so easy to rustle up. This is a one-pan recipe using only five ingredients. It’s a delicious, fail-safe snack to keep the hunger pangs at bay.

Serves: 68

Ingredients
80g brown sugar
100g butter
250g oats
150g dried fruit
30g golden syrup (or honey)

Method
Preheat oven to 180°C, and grease and line a slice tin.

Over a medium heat, melt butter and margarine. Add brown sugar and honey, stirring until smooth.

Next, stir in the oats and dried fruit, coating evenly.

Pour mixture into slice tin and spread evenly.

Bake in oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until the top goes golden brown.

Leave to stand for two minutes, then score slices into the top. Leave to stand for a few hours before slicing and serving up!
