How to embrace technology in your kitchen for an easier life

The advancement of technology has changed the way we cook, eat, and enjoy our food. Embracing technology in your kitchen can take your cooking to a whole new level, and make your life much easier.

Smart appliances are not just limited to cooking either, these appliances can automate and simplify many kitchen processes.

Pressure cooker

A multipurpose electric pressure cooker can be used for various cooking processes such as steaming and sautéing food quickly and easily. Time is of the essence in today’s world, and this versatile appliance is perfect for busy households.

It is easy to clean and the removable inner pot made of non-stick material can be washed in the dishwasher. As it uses pressure to cook food, it is almost 70 per cent faster than other cooking methods.

Many have added safety features such as safety lock lids and overheating protection, and come with pre-set instructions for cooking a variety of dishes.

It is an excellent investment for those who want to save time and energy in the kitchen while enjoying tasty and nutritious food.

Air fryer

You’ve no doubt seen the air fryer hype. In comparison to conventional fryers, an air fryer uses hot air to cook food instead of oil.

Without the extra calories of shallow or deep frying, it is a healthier alternative that still gives food crunch and flavour. You can cook certain foods around 50 per cent faster in the air fryer than in the oven. They’re also great at warming up leftovers.

Another advantage of using an air fryer is that it produces less smoke and odour than other cooking techniques, making it a great appliance for apartments where cooking smells can linger.

Smart oven

A smart oven is an energy-efficient and convenient appliance that allows you to monitor and control the cooking process using a mobile app. It sends an alert when the food is ready and is compatible with other smart devices, such as Alexa or Google Assistant. Most of the smart ovens available today combine the functionality of a microwave, regular oven, and steam oven all in one device.

They usually come with a variety of preset cooking instructions tailored to different types of food and offers features such as automatic shutdown, which immediately turns off the oven after the cooking process is complete.

Perhaps the best part of many smart ovens is that they typically have a self-cleaning feature that uses high heat to burn off any grime, oil or food residue.

Induction cooktops

Induction cooktops offer several advantages over traditional stoves, including energy efficiency, precise temperature control, faster cooking time and ease of cleaning. If you are particular about having a sleek and modern aesthetic in your kitchen, these are a great investment.

They use electromagnetic fields to heat the cookware, saving more energy than traditional electric or gas cooktops.

The surface of the cooktop remains cool and will not cause burns or other injuries if touched accidentally. Some popular versions of these cooktops also come with safety features such as child locks and automatic shut-off, making them a great choice for homes with young children.

Smart refrigerator

These gadgets typically have features such as voice control, automated defrosting and humidity control. Some smart fridges even have built-in sensors that warn you when the food is getting close to expiration.

Some models even offer recipe suggestions based on the food in your fridge, reducing the time spent coming up with something to cook or looking for recipes.

Food processor

A food processor is a multifunctional device that can help make food preparation a lot easier and faster. Many models can chop, shred, grate, and slice vegetables and fruit in a few seconds.

Now, they are easy to use and much easier to clean than older versions.

Smart coffee maker

If you are a coffee lover, this might be a great investment for your kitchen. A smart coffee maker can brew the perfect coffee in just 60 seconds and comes with a thermally insulated cup that keeps your drink warm or cold for a long time.

One of the biggest advantages of a smart coffee maker is the level of personalisation it offers. You can choose the type of coffee beans, the bitterness and the brewing temperature from the app. They make both hot and cold coffee and can save you time and money by reducing the number of morning trips to the coffee shop.

Smart coffee makers can also be remotely controlled from your phone, enabling you to schedule brew times and have the machine turn off automatically after the coffee has been made.

Incorporating technology into your kitchen can make cooking and preparing food easier and more enjoyable. With so many appliances to choose from, there’s bound to be one that fits your needs and lifestyle.
