Not got a lot of time, but want a tasty chicken dish? Why not try this tasty Asparagus Chicken Mornay?
- 500g chicken fillets, diced
- 2 cups asparagus cuts
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups milk
- 1 packet chicken noodle soup
- 1 tablespoon plain flour
- 2 teaspoons margarine
- 1 teaspoon chicken stock powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
Sauté chicken in a frying pan, add the onion and cook for a further three minutes. Remove from the pan. Melt margarine, add flour to the pan and mix together. Gradually add in the milk until a white sauce is made, stirring constantly. Add soup mix, basil and stock powder, mix well. Return chicken to pan and gently stir in the asparagus. Heat through and serve with either rice, mashed potato or pasta.
