Update these iPhone settings

Smartphone users have been shocked over the past few years by just how much data their phones have been recording, including their conversations.

In recent months, Apple has been proudly advertising the fact that the software used on all iPhones is significantly more secure when it comes to device privacy. While this is certainly the truth, there are still privacy issues that iPhone users need to address themselves.

To stop advertisers from building a profile on you to target specific advertisements to your internet movement, implement the following two updates:

1. Limit Ad Tracking
From your iPhone home screen, press ‘Settings’. Scroll down and press ‘Privacy’. Scroll down to the bottom and press ‘Advertising’. Press the button on the far-right next to ‘Limit Ad Tracking’ so that it displays turned on in green.

2. Turn-off Location-Based Apple Ads
Return to the home screen and press ‘Settings’. Scroll down and press ‘Privacy’. Press on ‘Location Services’. Scroll down to the bottom and press ‘System Services’. Press the button on the far-right next to ‘Location-Based Apple Ads’ so that it turns from green to a clear white colour.
