Booklover’s dream come true

There’s nothing quite like relaxing in bed with a good book. And one hotel in Tokyo has taken this concept to the extreme, so that you can literally sleep amongst bookcases.

Calling itself an ‘accommodation bookshop’, beds are hidden in nooks and crannies of library shelves at the aptly named, Book and Bed hotel. Choose from either a ‘bookshelf’ featuring a bedroom behind it or a bunk bed with a private curtain, room light, hanger and power outlet. Both options come in two sizes – one can only assume your height is the deciding factor.

With luggage space under your bed, the property also features a free wifi, a shared lounge, showers and toilets. With space for only 30 guests at a time, perhaps more importantly, the Book and Bed hotel accommodates over 1700 books in both English and Japanese.

The perfect excursion for your book club; if you’ve ever dreamt of being locked in a bookstore this is the hotel for you. The only question is how many nights do you need to get through the 1700 books?
