Just use Fuel Check in your state and support whoever has the most consistent lowest prices.
Diesel at half dozen service stations near me ranges from 205.9 to 233.9 – big difference!

I never buy anything from New Zealand any more since I found out they import most of their stuff from China in bulk, repack it and label it as their own produce! NOOO, THANK YOU!!!
$36 and $31 are ridiculous prices for a pudding, so it is better to make your own – which is simple enough. You can also make sure you use Aussie ingredients!

Although this recipe says “booze-free and no soaking required” fruit soaked overnight in your favourite grog is always an improvement – or orange juice as a possible alternative! Enjoy!!!

IMHO, I think he doesn’t like answering questions, hasn’t got a clue how to govern and wants some sympathy from the snowflakes who bow at his feet!
The sooner he is voted out, the better!
But… how much damage will he do before the next election! 😛

I have banned Cadbury’s Favourites in my house – and ALL other Cadbury products because they pay to have them ‘halal certified’ thus supporting terrorist organisations because 10% of those fees are considered for zakat which is for their fighters. Why pay for the next terrorist attack in Oz when you can buy decent chocolate from other manufacturers?

Most 16 year olds these days can hardly read, write, spell, do basic maths or tell what sex they are, so they certainly do not have the wisdom or maturity to vote for people who will run our country!
At that age, their main thoughts will be about what they will get personally from the government/s, not with the best interest of the nation in mind.
Quite frankly, I would prefer the voting age be returned/raised back to 21 where it used to be!

It would want to be a decent size – like ‘family-size’ not small individual size!
BUT… the ‘French butter’ immediately put me off!
I try to ‘Buy Australian’ as much as possible and believe we have wonderful Aussie-made dairy products here.
SO… in short – NO, thank you!

As a young married almost 60 years ago, my husband and I rented a flat in a house that had a toilet on a closed-in verandah off the kitchen. There was a door to the toilet but no door to the doorway from the verandah to the kitchen. We were told at the time that toilets and kitchens legally must have a 2 door air seal between them and officially our home was not legal. Nothing was done at the time and we moved after a couple of years. So… either it is still illegal, or rules have been changed. Which is it?

Typical Greens! Do we want these people running the country?
    Among other things…
“…It May Affect Your Mental Health
Not everyone’s experience with marijuana is pleasant. It often can leave you anxious, afraid, panicked, or paranoid. Using marijuana may raise your chances for clinical depression or worsen the symptoms of any mental disorders you already have. Scientists aren’t yet sure exactly why. In high doses, it can make you paranoid or lose touch with reality so you hear or see things that aren’t there.
    Your Thinking May Get Distorted
Marijuana can cloud your senses and judgment. The effects can differ depending on things like how potent your pot was, how you took it, and how much marijuana you’ve used in the past.It might:
    >Heighten your senses (colors might seem brighter and sounds might seem louder)
    >Distort your sense of time
    >Hurt your motor skills and make driving more dangerous
    >Lower your inhibitions so you may have risky sex or take other chances
    It May Impair Your Brain
Marijuana can make it harder for you to focus, learn, and remember things.
    It Intensifies Alcohol’s Dangers
Combining alcohol and marjuana at the same time roughly doubled the odds of drunk driving… compared to drinking alone…”

in reply to: Have you seen an ‘R’ plate on a car? #1752793

This is a copy of comments on my FB page:
“…A new car plate has been launched to help drivers who are returning to the road after a traumatic experience or prolonged absence. The R plates are designed to indicate to other motorists that a driver should be given some extra space and treated with more care as they navigate the roads. The initiative puts the mental health of drivers at the forefront and acknowledges the anxiety they may be feeling following trauma, an accident, injury or break from driving…”
I WILL CERTAINLY KEEP MY DISTANCE FROM THESE DRIVERS, WHO IN MY CONSIDERED OPINION, ARE NOT READY TO BE BACK ON THE ROAD!!!
They are being distributed by Australian service and repair company mycar, formerly Kmart Tyre and Auto, in a push to encourage more empathy on the roads. “We care for those with physical injuries from a road incident, but we rarely consider the mental toll road trauma can take,” mycar said. “The R plate signifies to other road users that the driver may need some extra care, giving them time and space to recover. Recovering drivers can confidently return to the road knowing they are in a supportive space.”
USING THEM IS AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT YOU ARE NOT FIT TO DRIVE, SO YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR LICENCE SUSPENDED UNTIL YOU HAVE MEDICAL OPINION THAT SAYS YOU ARE!!!
The return plates are not an officially sanctioned road item and as such have been linked to a baby on-board sticker.
WHENEVER I SEE A “baby on-board sticker” I THINK IT IS A PAEDOPHILE INVITATION STICKER FOR THE OPPORTUNIST WHEN YOUR BACK IS TURNED!!!

in reply to: Time to hang up the iron? #1752534

    No ironing for me!
As soon as washing stops, I take each item out, shake it, fold it and lay it flat, leaving it for an hour or two during which time it ‘irons’ itself.
I use lots of pegs and hang each item on the line quite neatly, over two lines in some cases, so no creases are added.
And when I remove them from the line they are neatly folded or immediately hung on a coat-hanger ready to be put away.
Sounds involved, but only takes a few minutes more than the rough way and saves ironing or looking like something the cat dragged in! 😉

On its own, I don’t like the term ‘old age’.

Surely people haven’t been reporting cold symptoms as well as flu and c0v1d symptoms!!!
I wear a mask in crowded public situations as I have a number of so-called co-morbidities and don’t want to catch anything from anyone which may make my health situation worse than it already is.
That said, I take 1000mg Vitamin C three times daily and have not had a cold or the flu for over 40 years.

    That is unfortunate, Rhonda! 🙁
But… you could be prepared. When your partner’s referral is getting close to expiring – within months, not weeks – ask for another from your GP when, say, he gets a script, to avoid an extra visit, if possible.
Or… unless you can’t do without that specialist, find a new one to does accept indefinite referrals.
    Good luck! 🙂

As you say: “…The diamond passed through the hands of India’s Mughal, Afghan, Persian and Sikh rulers before being acquired by Queen Victoria in 1850…”
The diamond now belongs to Britain who have every right to keep it.
How on earth does India justify demanding it returned?
Do they expect global legal ownership laws all be thrown out?

About a year ago, I bought a BBQ chick from Coles, Wallsend, NSW.
When I opened the pack at home, I found a wing missing.
Next visit to Coles, I spoke to a staff member on the Information Desk, telling them the wing was missing and that I thought if it had dropped and could not be put in the bag, the chicken should have been sold with say, a $1 discount and a mention of the missing wing, and that it was wrong to sell a part chicken for a whole chicken price.
She spoke to her superior who said they would replace it.
I thought I would be getting a BBQ wing, but they gave me a whole BBQ chicken.
Wow! I wasn’t expecting that, but very thankful – and sooo impressed with their response!
    Bless ’em! 🙂

I always use self-serve where available.
I am elderly and slow and hate the feeling of a line of impatient customers behind me or a staff member serving me, wishing I would hurry up, if I am in a single line checkout.

Absolutely! And did we love them!
We either lit the fuses at the end, threw them on the ground and they went off one at a time over the next few seconds OR we unwound the string tying them together, held the base between thumb-nail and first finger-nail, lit the fuse and bravely held our arm out, turning faces away and let it go BANG… I mean POP!!! LOL!!!

When you need a referral to a specialist whom you expect to see again in your life-time, ask your GP for a on-going/indefinite/perpetual referral as it is never-ending.
I have a few of these for my oncologist and radiotherapist (regular 6-monthly check-ups) and my ophthalmologist (annual check-ups).
No harm done if you never need them again, but always on record in your specialist file if you do!
    “…What is an indefinite referral?
An indefinite referral is a referral that doesn’t have an end date. These types of referrals are generally reserved for patients who have illnesses or health requirements that need the ongoing management and care of a specialist…”

My own experience shows that dietary intake is an important factor in health. I discovered in May 2009 that I had Chronic Kidney Disease. My blood tests showed eGFR figure of 50 indicating percent of function (range >=90) and my Creatinine figure of 99 (range 45-90). Two GPs said those figures were normal for my age at the time (60), another GP refused to discuss anything with me because I had researched my problem on the internet and a specialist said not to make any dietary changes until I was really bad, and he considered I was ‘a bit obsessive’ about intake of Protein, Phosphorus, Potassium and Sodium. I weighed and calculated figures of my food intake reading labels and using https://www.foodstandards.gov.au/science/monitoringnutrients/afcd/Pages/foodbyalphabetsearch.aspx keeping within or close to government Recommended Dietary Intake (RDI) levels for my age and gender. I kept figures on an Excel spreadsheet for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snacks, so I could eat more or less at Dinner depending on intake for Breakfast and Lunch. My blood test results in October that year showed my eGFR increased from 50 to 69 and my Creatinine reduced from 99 to 75 which to me are significant improvements for the better. Having become used to my general intake, I (now 73) have been careful with my diet ever since. Recent blood tests show eGFR at 81 (>59) and Creatinine 85 (60-110). Very happy with that! ? Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a significant and growing public health problem, responsible for substantial burden of illness and premature mortality. Positive dietary choices can make a big difference. It is never too early or too late to start making changes for the better.

Robodebt refunds were only made to certain categories of people.

My friend received Pensioner Educational Supplement while attending TAFE classes – totally legit!

He has folders of paperwork and TAFE records of passing or failing courses, but because he often forgot to write his name on the piece of paper at the door of the classroom, Centrelink powers-that-be claimed he did not attend.

He is deaf, disabled and has since been accepted as an NDIS client.

This is totally wrong, but I will try to change things for him with this RC being proposed.
