Deals of the week: Budget bonanzas

Is there a better way to celebrate the last week of autumn than by grabbing a bargain? As you watch the last of the falling leaves through the window, check out where prices are falling online.

This week, they have fallen at Virgin Australia, Dymocks and Aldi. Have a look at some of the great deals on offer as we speak.

Virgin Australia

Winter might not seem like the best time to get away for some, but it can be a great time to book a getaway. For those looking to do so at a later date, Virgin Australia is here to help. The airline has a ‘Book Early Fares’ sale on, with a range of flights available at early bird prices.

These prices are available for flights from virtually anywhere in Australia to just about any destination, too. Here are some examples:

  • Adelaide to Hobart economy for just $109. (Adelaide to Launceston is even cheaper at $105!)
  • Brisbane to Sydney economy one-way flights for just $135.
  • Or how about Canberra to Melbourne at a low $149? Or Darwin to Melbourne from $269?
  • From Hobart, you can book a flight to Melbourne from $129, or to Sydney from $139.
  • A Melbourne flight all the way up to Brisbane starts at $159, while a flight from Perth up to beautiful Broome begins at just $250.
  • And let’s not forget Australia’s biggest city, Sydney. For those looking for a flight out of the harbour city, Virgin has trips to the Gold Coast from just $89, and the Sunshine Coast from $95.

And those offers only scratch the surface. Check out the full range of dates and flights here.

Please note that the offers above are all starting prices for ‘Lite Fares’ that include carry-on luggage only.

Dymocks

On the other hand, with the days getting shorter as well as cooler, you’re likely to be spending more time indoors. Why not curl up and keep warm with a good book. Dymocks is here to help with their May catalogue specials.

For a start, you can get any three of Dymocks’ top 101 books of 2024 for the price of two. Or you can take advantage of the store’s ‘buy one, get 50 per cent off’ deal on selected books.

If cooking is your thing, check out Sarah Pound’s Wholesome by Sarah, available for $8 off the recommended price, or The Fast 800 Treats recipe book, which is $5 off.

Dymocks has a range of other great deals in their latest catalogue. Have a browse here.

Aldi

At our old favourite, Aldi, the new catalogue includes a bunch of great offers,  such as a range of high-quality quilts and sheets in an array of beautiful colours.

And so you can really snuggle up and keep warm, Aldi has electric blankets in three sizes from just $34.99. If you were thinking of sticking with a hot water bottle this winter, think again.

Aldi’s current catalogue is available here.
