Is it time to stop bashing Bronwyn?
We all know that the Speaker made a monumental mistake when she thought that travelling 90km in a helicopter between Melbourne and Geelong. And yes, it appears there have been other displays of grandiosity that she appears to be simply shrugging off. As long as she has Tony Abbott in her corner, any hope of seeing her booted out of the Speaker’s chair is slim.
But Ms Bishop is on ‘probation’, as is every other MP who thinks it’s OK to charge a private car to the tax payer when not on state business. So woe betide anyone who thinks attending a colleague’s wedding is state business.
That Ms Bishop apparently spat her dummy because she couldn’t get the seat she wanted in business class is at best, a cheap shot. Sure, it may highlight her petulant behaviour, but it’s just cashing in on the popularity of giving her a bashing in the media.
And if you’re in any doubt that things could be worse, take a look at the UK. Deputy Speaker Lord Sewel has quit his position (and that of chairman of the Lords Privileges and Conduct Committee), after being recorded by The Sun newspaper in the UK, snorting cocaine and talking about his predilection for Asian women, who he refers to as ‘whores’. But don’t worry, he showed respect for his wife by putting her photo face down on the bedside table while ‘entertaining’ said Asian women.
Surely it’s time to move on and concentrate on the important policies that need to be addressed, rather than the next tantrum thrown by a woman who has shown she is out of touch with the common people?
Kohla I don't know you and my remarks were. Aimed at rusted on Labor supporters Geomac and Gerry who have no idea of the new Australia that wants to stand on its own two feet . But feel entitled to live off other. Taxpayers ..whether needed or not ,
