My profile pic is my Scottish Terrier called Fidget. Everyone says how much her name suits her (especially when she was a rather boisterous puppy). But the name actually comes from a Scottish country dance called Fidget. I have even (way back in the day) danced it.  Most folk don't know that Scotties come in this wheaten colour, so she's constantly being called a Westie!  My other Scottie, the more usual dark brindle one, is called Kenzie. I'm told it means "white", so my ironic side rather liked a black dog being given a name that means white.  However, she does have a large white blaze down her front, which means she would be laughed out of the show ring, as white is a fault, but it means I can see her in the garden at night...

 Scottie,

Never had anything to do with them as a breed but that be a fine looking dog in the picture.

Take it easy.

SD

that is a lovely dog,   just what i want,

Thank you, Shaggy and Cats. She IS a beautiful dog, and the wheatens are certainly much easier to photograph than the black ones, who just look like dark blobs with tongues. That pic was taken a while back, though, and she's a lot older and scruffier now. Whilst we have never shown her, her litter sister won the Adelaide Royal a few years back, so we basked in the glory by proxy.

has a face like a little old man,     just lovely,

Yes, Scotties have that very wise look. Pity they are not actually the Einsteins of the canine world!
