Hi all
Single pension rate went up more than couples pensions rate because singles rate lagged far behind couples ..... ..
the single rate rise of $60 per fortnight only reflects just how far the single rate lagged behind the amount that couples got .
with the new increase that singles got they are now a fairer two thirds of the combined couples rate ..

Its sad to see that misunderstanding is causing singles against couples arguments such as I read in someones post recently.. . we all need to stick together to lobby for what is fair.. not be divided .

Its great that sngle and married pensioners received a rise in pension, but what about the widows, such as myself, over 60 but not old enough for age pension'.

Sorry I don't mean to ignore the plight of widows, it doesn't seem fair that you received no increase, and all the more reason for pensioners of all sections to stick together to get a fair go.

Give ALL women and men the erquivalent of the age pension in their 50's and 60's not just those who no longer have a man to bring home their bacon.



Nah not for me thanks. Yes Innes I am off to my three jobs today so I am not a dole bludger or a whiner like a broken record Toot Toot etc. saying over and over "I am 60 and I want an aged pension and I want it NOW". lol
