Missing person
We are starting in Sydney, with a view to being registered by Xmas, throughout Australia. Do you want to help?
Posted: 13 September 2008 04:21 PM
That was a new political party to be registered by Xmas 2008.

Now where is innes ?
He last posted near a week ago that he was banned from political discussion .... then disappeared.

Ah well, it was an interesting discussion that lasted for 14 months but ended up in the grave heap.
The membership form that was promised two months ago never appeared.

Many, or at least some of us thought that it would never happen, but maybe hoped that it would.
Now it looks as though it is all over.

But I must admit that it caused some interesting comments, and kept us occupied for awhile :)

Beats me Gerry................he was so keen too................ :cheese:

I have heard no music......has "the fat lady" sung?

Gerry, I have not gone away. I have had, as I have mentioned on another post, some very serious family medical problems & I offer no apologies, for putting them way ahead of any unpaid work that I have offered on here. You might remember Gerry, that I had the membership form, in my scanner, the last time I spoke to you on Skype, but you told me that it was of no use without other information. Which I am trying to put together. You said, last weekend, that I had a week before your offer to construct a site, run out. Because of more important commitments, I will have this off to you, by Sunday, although not as extensive as I would have liked.

I came on here, a year & 2 months ago looking for offers of help with a VIEW to having the Party up by XMass. I got about 10 or 12 offers & everybody else derided any idea of supporting a Party that was only interested in the welfare of the 30% of Australians who come under the heading of Seniors. I asked for imput for the Foundation Charter, I got NONE ther than criticism.

Clay asked specifically for comments on Nick Xenaphon, to which I replied, with no further mention. What was the point?

I started the most popular site ever, on About Seniors, re Political Representation & Admin saw fit to close it, at the same time leaving another Political site open. I took that as a ban.

"Seniors and Carers all need to stand together but it would take commitment.". with 224 posts & 23123 hits, has not been closed.

I am still keen, but I have found out that there is a limit to my ability to multi task, so my family comes before being abused on here.

With all due respect Ken we were "very happy" when you came in here speaking

of Seniors getting together to maybe form a party to represent us and I for one would still love to see someone in the Senate at least....

You said you had people ready to go, so why would we few here at Seniors make all that much difference to you in any way but just a help maybe? and many of us tried real hard to help you

Do you remember? especially Gerry and Terrib but you seemed to back down abruptly when we were gearing to go.

I and (I am but one small vote for anything) sorry you think differently on some subjects

re "Helping every person over 60" and not just some, but in the long term a Seniors Party would have to have all people in the age group they can get, so maybe you would re-think all of us and not just those on the full Pension. I would hope anyway.

You should have been around long enough to not be "SO sensitive"

Bite the bullet and get on with it - please....

All the best

Phyl.

p.s. if you want, ask for the post you speak of to be closed also (I will not cry promise) :(

Phyl, I was quite excited, when I got on here, expecting support & great ideas, & the possibility of someone to stand. The people we had, who were enthusiastic, looked at the general attitude, here & said that it was not worth the effort. In actual fact, there were only a few posters, on here who supported the idea. Most were dead against it. Clay even suggested that I was looking to get a $1 membership fee so I could get the money & do a runner, with my new found wealth. I made it a point, on a number of occasions, that the aim of the Party was to represent the interests of all Seniors, not just pensioners.

I would like to think that we don't always see eye to eye, because, if we did, it would mean that one of us is not thinking. Somebody complained that Clay & I agree, all the time. The fact is, I think, that we never agree!!! It is just that our own personal views are often the same. I, for one, am 100% against the introduction of the ETS by Australia. BUT I am prepared to debate the subject, instead of calling those with opposite views, names.

I don't for 1 moment, want your site closed. The point, I tried to make, was that, by far, the 2 most popular sites ever, were political & admin chose to close mine, so I took that as banning. It is odd that so many, on here, are not the least interested in Politics, but they were the all time most popular.

Hope things are o.k. re the health probs. in your family Ken

as of course that is your no.1 concern.

With the Labour Party blotting the Copy Book and not really doing what most people

expected them to do! and the Liberal Party a schmozzle and in complete dissaray; maybe

now is the time (maybe clever you waiting) to "have a go" at getting a Seniors Party going?

As the bloke in the Gladiators says "Are you ready"? can you say yes Ken?

Gerry has started the web page now over to you hey?

Even if we never did more than got something going to become noticed

and a force to be reconed with, it would be better than doing nothing and if we were all clever enough to get a voice in the Senate that would be a bonus and if we had a special person elected!!! to support all people but especially Seniors ('cause we are SO special

that would be extra grouse wouldn't it?

Going to a Farmers Market at Traralgon in a few minutes and then to Old Gippstown in Moe and a fantastic outdoor market. Hope to get lovely mangoes and peaches and apricots and cherries

What a wonderful weekend - hope everyone else has a special one.

Phyl.
