Optimistic about the future

We cannot even imagine what a wonderful future our children will have.

Instead of the 24 hr cycle of entertainment provided by our politiciwe should occasionally reflect on how far we have come in a short space of time and the quickening speed of our progress.

I will comment on a couple of areas and perhaps if there are other optimists out there they could comment on progress in their area of expertise.

The world population is forcast to top out at about 9 billion by 2050 and then go into decline . In other words the birth rate of. 2.1 necessary to replace the current population on a World scale will fall below this. As is already the case in developed countries and has been so in Australia since the sixties.

Healthy life extension is moving rapidly forward we have moved from 50 to 85 in the past 100 years. . and with all the research in this area we are on the verge of a major extension.

Manufacturing Automation with the advent of 3d printing technology

We are entering a whole new world of producing goods with new materials and little labour.

Computing power with the advent of quantum computers computing power will increase by untold amounts and will pass the human brain

Probably

Soon the art of talking will disappear...have you tried to have a conversation with a teenager lately??   Texting is the way to go these days.

Henry if you mean hand writing I say so what . But if you mean creative writing I think it is booming. I have two children still at school one in year 5 and one in year 12 . I have never met such a bright involved bunch of children as them aand their friends .

They do use technology for keeping in touch but it's all creative and they are very quick to move on . E mail out social sites out instagram in .

Radish I have wonderful conversations with teenagers still the same subjects as when I was one . I agree about texting .

Pete you could get your year 12 daughter to show you how to insert the highlighted url source on here, would save all the long copy and pasting you do.

Yeah I know viv but it doesn't work from my I-pad  this site not mobile friendly

Works from my IPad and IPhone geo too so I don't think it is this site, so might be your settings worth checking with Apple.

Ok so one more time I copy and paste the link n here and it is in black and white I look fr the chain to convert but it is pale and does not respond

After you paste your url

Higlight your url (similar as if you were going to copy it again)

The chain darkens ar this point of time and then you click on the chain and a box will appear

Paste your Url in it at the top and press Insert at the bottom

And the url on the page will be connected

OK after you do the above put your finger on your black and white link  and a bubble comes up with select select all or paste?

So press select or select all but just make sure only bit you want to highlight is included, and do copy again

Link should be solid now -press it

A box comes up

where it says url press and paste from that bubble  you copied it from

at bottom of box it says insert press it

you should now have your link

Ok thanks Ladies out and about at mo and just on I phone will try later on I pad in car .
