Asylum seekers: Australia's day of shame
Is it?
I certainly do not feel shamefull?
I do not feel the slightest bit guilty?
I do not mind people smugglers going out of business?
I do not mind Kevin Rudd's Immigration policies?
I do not mind a poor country like PNG getting financial help?

Read the article, then read the comments at the end, same as it is here,a whole lot of different and varied opinions, thats why Australia is a democracy,so we all have freedom of speech, these economic asylum seekers want to come here for one reason, its not safety (they were safe in Indonesia)
Its not because they want to see what it feels like to be free (not when their women are downtrodden and forced to be compliant)
Its not because their homeland is unsafe ( otherwise the "Whole" poulation of that country would leave)
Why are they mostly young fit men? Why?
I think PNG is a better option as a deterant than any other option,I mean how many options do we have,we have 2 options, open border, closed border, what option would you take if you were Kevin Rudd?
Well which is it,open border or closed border with selective immigration based by percentage on skilled workers say 90% and humantarian 10%,the taxes from the 90% can be used to support the 10%,who by the way are brought here from overseas by Qantas not by "Boom Boom Bang Bang dobydoody" water taxi service, whose business motto is "One flat rate $5000 Yankee Dollar, guaranteed pickup by Silly Ozzie idiots" via Indonesia.
I for one have had enough of some scumbag Indonesian telling me who my neighbour is going to be,look after our own first, then spread the goodwill around, but we choose where our charity goes not these economic asylum seekers, they are quite safe in Indonesia, quite safe, but no dole or free housing there,is there.
The PNG locals have nothing, these freeloaders are going to be sent to a place where the natives were once headhunters, guess what they may be hungry too!
I am in agreement with Kevin Rudds immigration policies on illegal arrivals in Australia, and applying a reward for people smugglers. Australia needs to look after our own people first such as housing the homeless, making sure elderly pensioners are getting support to enable them to stay in there own homes, and can afford food. Our public hospitals need more support, also people with disabillities. All the money given to the illegal arrivals in this country means less for Australians who need it the most and have alway paid taxes and have the right to be looked after. Also with many people out of work in Australia it is imprortant to train and find them jobs first as many are trying to support families and pay off homes. Indonesia needs to be more responsible for people in there country instead of passing the buck.
