RED LIGHT CAMERAS IN N.S.W.

This month was the only time I have ever run a red light. Why is it so easy to become a statistic of 'THE RED LIGHT BLITZ'

In a 70klm zone I was marked by an inroad Speed Chip doing exactly 70klm. Exactly, as I had my auto speed on for 70klm.

As I approached the light changed to yellow, checked the rear view with a small truck on my rear.

As I hit the line the camera flashed. No red light was in sight.

The first photo and details showed I was 1/3rd of a second into the red light camera zone, my rear bumper was just over the line.

3 seconds is all that is required to look, make a decision of rear traffic and brake hard.

Being a pensioner with no other income $426.00 is beyond me to pay.

I do agree with properly timed Red Light Cameras, but 1/3rd of a second ??? WE ARE HUMAN, NOT TECHNICAL PERFECTIONISTS!!

I'm fast becoming an expert at getting out of speeding fines.ETC

Write to them and tell them exactly what happened and say you are sorry for what happened but you thought you were in the right.

Say that $426 is peanuts to someone on a average wage of $90.000 per year but to me a pensioner income it is coconuts.

You must have a good driving record and you must say sorry.

Good luck
