We should be using the cheapest fuel available without subsidies . Coal , Nuclear .Solar, Gas ,Hydro .
THE NSW Chief Scientist’s report into coal-seam gas has wrong footed opponents of the industry, including the Greens, Labor Party, protesters and even elements of the NSW government, with its conclusion that the risks of the industry can be safely managed.
The report, which took 19 months to compile and included many scientific studies, gave the green light to coal-seam gas as long it was done in suitable geological areas, conducted with high-quality engineering and training, and with comprehensive monitoring.
Chief Scientist Mary O’Kane recommended an overhaul of the regulatory framework for approving coal-seam gas developments.
