Changes to School Curriculum in Australia
I'm not sure whether this should be in hot topics or political but it caught my eye today:
Students need to be able to read, write, count, think and know enough about Australian and world history to have some understanding of why things happen as they do

In my opinion the teachers of today need to go back to school. Not wanting to do the age thing here, but when I went to school teachers knew how to spell properly and write properly. Making the school curriculum simpler leaves very little scope for bright kids. Also teaching 'morals' at school. Should this not be a job for parents? So that when kids arrive at school they have some idea how to behave.
