Cannot believe what I have just heard? Rosie Batty - Australian of the Year? WHY ? WHY??????

She was a divorcee who had NO guts to stand up to a violent husband and sadly - her son was killed! We were all so sorry when we heard what and how it happened! BUT - Kids are killed by husbands/de facto's every week!? Every week throughout this country!

Sure - she has done some great work regarding "children/violence" etc. but please look look at the people who have done far far far more than what she has ever done - or ever will!

I cannot believe it! Sorry! Just my opinion ...........................

Seggie. Thinking cap on. My bet is, there is probably not far away from where any of us live, could be a woman, used to being ill-treated. Many keep such things private. Some don't and if we hear of it, it's been said 'oh, I have met the husband and he seemed nice'. Mental torture is heard of but can't be seen. Physical can be easily seen. In my day, you rarely heard of it and women were scared of their husbands. As Radish said, you would need to walk in their shoes. I've seen women, scared of their husbands/partners but I've never seen a scared man in a similar position. For myself, I don't care about awards though I realise recognition may help nowadays. As for the Prince Phillip award, I thought I was hearing things. I shakes me 'ead.

Can't stop now, just off to Canberra to receive my knighthood!! What a joke, time to go Tony.

Is the "toxic one" not mentored? Was there no-one around to tell him it was a worse than stupid idea to knight Prince Phillip? Where is mummy Peta these days?

Saw somewhere Angus and PETA were the only two who knew beforehand - maybe Peta is aiming/expecting to become a Dame for services to the Crown in next years list.

These people who have lost their child and then se up a charity in their childs name and then run all around Australia talking here and there are they using money donated to pay their trips because the parents don't seem to work? just asking

cats it has happened to me also, plus where you tick to receive a topic at the bottom of the page...my tick disappears no matter how often I replace it, not worried... extra exercise re ticking is good for me.

Also find I can't put anything in bold, italics etc just glitches I guess.

Most of the spam material has been removed so maybe now it may work better ??

My Bold is working too:) if I use those at top of box but if I go back and try to choose a word to put into italics (on IPad) just s quick flash and it goes.

well SETH, if his conscience is getting to him, he has no one else but himself to blame, IF he hadnt taken your new beaut bike that you needed for your deliveries, and GERRYS new beaut camera, then maybe he would have a clear conciense, and not have a worried mind, just goes to show , if you do wrong, it will come back and bite you in the bum sometime, maybe thats why his mangos wont grow, POOR PHYL, i dont know how she copes, having to bail him out all the time, one of these days he will go to far, and it will be OFF WITH HIS head,

Please show some respect for Zapot, he has just been promoted to King of the Dragons for services rendered !
