How does it compare to the  Bluetooth Smart Watch Wrist  Watch Phone Mate For Android Cell Phone

They sell under $40 ???

Do not think Apple will get their price

Absolutely Apple will be selling a piece of Jewelery that will also be a health monitor etc .

The cheapest sports model will be 349 US but others in the Edition range will be thousands .

It will compete with Rolex etc .. But do a lot more .

Many suspected that even if Apple was going to release a smartwatch it would simply compete with digital sport watches and fitness tracker devices. That is of course true when it comes to the Apple Watch Sport, but the story is very different with the Apple Watch and the Apple Watch Edition. While I suspect the Apple Watch Sport is the $349 entry-level model, you can forget about that price for the steel and gold models. I suspect the Apple Watch to be closer to $500 and up, while the 18k yellow and rose gold Apple Watch Edition watches will be much higher. The good news is that Apple is not likely to want the same margin for gold as luxury watch brands, but I can't see the gold Apple Watch being less than $5,000 - $10,000. You have to ask yourself where they are going to sell those; in addition to high-end department stores will jewelry stores suddenly start to sell Apple Watches?

I was going to buy a fitness tracker for$196 but am having second thoughts now.  Will wait awhile and see how this watch goes and it may be preferable to having a tracker.

Beam me up " Scottie"

Can't wait for launch .....

This one would have to be the pick of them

and personally it leaves me cold --- far too masculine

Unlike a gold rolex, this is a piece ot tech and will be obselete in a couple of years, so hardly a type of heirloom.

it is a piece of tech and will be obsolete in a number of yearsit is a piece of tech and will be obsolete in a number of years

First it is a wonderful piece of design .

Second it is a source of information . The traditional watch is limited to date and time some times two time zones ...

the Apple watch exceeds all this parameters and can be uploaded with the latest software or apps so will never be obsolete .

Love talking to you Abbs are we the only youngies on here ....

Heard in the "wee" hours that we will eventually (not me) have one implanted in all of us.

The Cicret Bracelet: Like a tablet...but on your skin.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9J7GpVQCfms

With the Cicret Bracelet, you can make your skin your new touchscreen....watch video above.

This one is Android

The device could cost up to $400

Couldn't compete with the Apple Watch a beautiful piece of design and who wants to wear two pieces on your wrist .

You just wear the bracelet and have the phone in your bag or wherever

The other is on your skin when it activates ... look at the link.

But you still wear a watch and the bracelet Abbs .

And design my child design ........

My android has the time on it so why would you wear a watch ???

- you can have it in the shower with you

It is a different product to the wrist watch phone mate

All products aren't just pragmatic . Otherwise they would never sell any cars with German badges on them .

Some products are sold on their design alone , or they make a statement ...

the beuty of all Apple products means they can charge a premium , they are not the most successful products in any category , Adroid sell more phones , and more PCs are sold than Apple . And I am sure more Adroid watches will be sold than Apple .

However Apple lead in inventing Market segments and remains the most profitable company in the world as it can charge more for its products , it's called theApple tax ...

why would you want to know the time in a shower ???

Twilsy and I tried to introduce design as a subject worth talking about on here but were shouted down by the philistines as elitist...

On every subject there seems to be a desire to race to the bottom . Even the insults are of very poor quality ...

Heard on Sunrise this morning that the Apple watch will be available in Australia mid April at the cost of $499 ... the gold one $14 thousand.

If you have iPhone 6 you will be able to get a new process Apple Pay so you will be able to pay with your phone watch mate abd pay for the goods by swiping with your watch.

The way technology is progressing anything you buy today will be almost obsolete very soon after as there is always something new coming out to make Apple etc even more money.

Have thought about purchasing a few things but ended up not bothering.  After thinking about it I usually come to the conculsion that  it will not improve my lifestyle to any great degree.

One thing I find most useful is our GPS but as I dislike having to pay for maps it will be more economical  to purchase a new one with lifetime maps rather than pay for updates all the time.

I realise some cars come  with them already fitted  but I doubt we will be buying another vehicle.

I find my GPS extremely useful too - especially with the increased traffic theses days.

Some really old kids still like to play with toys.

For $40.00 I am going to purchase a watch phone mate for my Samsung phone.

I find if I get a call, that by the time I fumble around at the bottom of the bag ... you just have no idea how many layers of clutter I have to go through :) ... I miss my call :(

Hopefully I will actually be able to answer my call ...

Much cheaper to :-

CLEAN YOUR BAG OUT.

$40 not that much and I will enjoy using it ... I think :)

Besides I have no room for the clutter that lives in the bag
