Why you don’t like jazz music

New research suggests testosterone levels could affect your musical choice.

A new study published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences found that men with more testosterone in their saliva are less likely to enjoy sophisticated music such as jazz, classical and avant-garde.

Those with more testosterone in their bodies were more likely to enjoy rock music.

For the study, the team looked at 37 males and 39 females and had each listen to 25 pieces of music and then rate them on a scale of one to 19 for how much they enjoyed the song.

In addition, the volunteers had their testosterone levels measured through a saliva sample.

The study failed to find a link between testosterone levels and musical taste in female volunteers, but for the males a clear link soon emerged.

Higher testosterone levels in males was associated with a preference for a type of music that the researchers termed “unsophisticated”, such as rock music.

Those with lower testosterone levels were more inclined to like classical and jazz.

What do you think? Do you think your biology can determine the kind of music that you like?

Us men have a reduction in testosterone as we age, therefore the report suggests that older men are more likely to enjoy Jazz?

Speak for yourself Frank, my testosterone levels are on point, LOL and I like all genres of music, depending on the mood I'm in.

Some of these research groups come up with strange results, you have to wonder sometimes what their agenda was before the study began, most research results are predetermined depending on the questions asked at the time, I know I can't stand jazz but equally I can"t stand heavy metal or heavy rock, I quite like some classical music and can't stand some other classical music, my wife's taste in music is completely different to mine in most instances, but in some it is the same. We must be just mixed up, both in our 70's maybe that's the cause.

The study was done by femtards are us. To prove women are more sophisticated than men. We all know that femtards have more testosterone than men and more chest hair as well.

I bet they didn't measure the amount of alcohol consumed. Jazz gets better in proportion to the number of drinks a person has had.

My Son is a Musician and he hates Jazz  (so do I)  he hated it since he was a child as when we went o the theatre and they used to play it b4 startup he used to put his hands over his ears and always said it sounded like they were tuning their instruments and I tend to agree with him.

I have Friends that love it.

Certainly no testosterone issues to speak of in your family PlanB. Good news!

Don't you guys know it's your testosterone that makes you guys too stupid to understand complicated music , unlike clever intelligence women. What a load of rubbish, I can't believe this garbage. Femtards are morons with way too much time on their hands.

The fact that almost all classical and jazz composers are male. Just went right past them.

Give us some time to fix that Tib. We will soon have equality so it will be difficult to tell who has a surplus of testosterone unless of course we see them being tortured by jazz.

Some of these researchers are real ding bats. There are so many jazz genres. I like Latin Jazz, a little bit of Dixieland and Afro-Cuban and I have no idea what that's doing to my testosterone levels.

Ask your wife Ray

Yes Somebody is right Ray, get a check up mate. Showing signs of decrease in sex drive leading to sexual dysfunction brought about by an increased liking for jazz of all kinds.
