1500 Chinese workers build railway for new station in 9 hours

Last Friday, around 1500 Chinese workers with the assistance of 23 diggers and seven trains connected three railroads into one new railway in Longyan, China.

The workers installed traffic lights, traffic monitoring equipment and built a stretch of rail for the new Nanlong Railway.

Incredibly, the work was completed in a little over 9 hours and shows the efficiency of the Chinese working force. Check out the video.

Would be a great idea and cost a lot less to fly these guys over here to finish some of our road works!

And in Perth they could finish off our Children's hospital!

OMG!!! Isnt there something Bill Shorten and his mates can do about that??

Seriously though, that is a great example of what can be acheived by sheer weight of numbers of workers with a common goal. Nothing is impossible in China. They just do it.

And in the dark, in winter and its cold!

"According to CNN’s online global wage calculator, which uses data from the International Labor Organization, the average annual salary of a worker in China’s private sector was 28,752 yuan (about $4,755) in 2012, or 38% of the global average. That’s roughly the same as a cleaner in Thailand, according to CNN’s data. "

Trade unions in China have many members: 137 million according to the official figure from the All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) as indicated in Figure 1. But they are virtually impotent when it comes to representing workers."

The unions would not allow this type of thing to happen here...getting work done in 9 hrs !!

In Australia we have at least 9 hrs of back room bufoonery discussing why it is impossible.

No need. No trains running in NSW.

Rad, I think that figure of 28,752 may be closer to the minimum wage rather than the average? None the less, the cost of living is so low. Many of the workers are living on site with food and lodging paid by the employer. A city apartment can be rented for $500 pm.

Dont know why we need continual wages growth above CPI here in OZ. When we put up taxes and costs of any kind prices rise as a result.

Australian are not man power to do things. Mouths more then work and the supervisor or team leader are not that good in working but good in coffee drinking. Not chinese are good in plan tea drinking no milk or sugar.

We are in the 21st century and still no all weather road around Australia. We don't have the skills to build proper roads or the political clout to to actually get things done. Australia, the backward country!

We definately have the skill. But we also have a counter productive political system. Australia is falling behind because we are not making good use of our greatest asset. We have good highly skilled people who are taking a back seat to political point scoring. Hell, we recently saw a state government willing to pay $1b NOT to build a road.

It shows not only the efficiency of the Chinese working force, but also the size and willingness.

We don't have a cat in hells chance of ever getting a h.s. rail either; but the chinese have already.

HS Rail?? No chance! We cant even get an airport built in under 30 years!!!
