One-armed brickie builds house in three days
A one-armed robot bricklayer has built a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Perth in less than three days. And, in case you were wondering, a structural engineering consultancy group has verified the structure meets all relevant building standards.
The Hadrian X robot requires minimal human interaction, works day and night and can lay up to 1000 bricks an hour – about what two experienced bricklayers would achieve in a day.
Perth-based creator FBR Limited is claiming it as a world first.
“What we have achieved here is a quantum leap for the construction industry,” says CEO Mike Pivac. “We are excited by the performance and results, given this work was completed in test speed and for the very first time.”
It’s called the Hadrian X construction robot and Mr Pivac says it’s the world’s “only fully automated, end-to-end bricklaying solution”.
The next step? Global expansion of course.
What a great invention and apllication of technology.
Of course Hadrian like a well known modern day world leader was obsessed with building a wall. :)
