Bill Shorten is a worry.  Shorten is not a commitment politician. He is pragmatic and solely focussed on what is good for Bill's career. 

Even before he assumes his Lay Down Misere of becoming PM (and jetting off in Air Force One, Rudd style), Bill Shorten has already backflipped on his long-stated, 'ironclad' policy of consensus with the LNP on the 'three pillars' to keep the people smugglers out of business. 

In caving in, he capitulated to the Left 'Progressive' (International Socialist) faction led by the increasingly arrogant Ms Plibersek [click for link].  Unlike Bill Shorten, the Socialist Left faction are commitment politicians and imbued with a passion and idealism for international socialism, such as the denial of national borders and the free movement of peoples across the globe.  They put socialist idealism first and are big spenders and big taxers, as was evident during the Rudd and Gillard governments.

Shorten has previous form for putting his career first and bowing to 'cow dozer' women.  It is Shorten's character flaw, his Achilles' Heel.  Who can forget Shorten and his 'Whatever She says'.[click for link]
