ABC and Fairfax journalist loses battle with cancer
Former ABC Sydney presenter and Fairfax journalist Deborah Cameron has died aged 60.
A former presenter on ABC 702 Sydney and Fairfax foreign correspondent, Cameron passed away after a long illness that followed an earlier battle with breast cancer.
Ms Cameron's decades-long journalism career began with Fairfax regional newspaper the Warrnambool Standard in Western Victoria, followed by The Canberra Times and The Sydney Morning Herald.
She became the first woman to hold the job of Tokyo correspondent for Fairfax, and also worked in New York and Jakarta.
She was a regular guest on ABC Radio before taking on the role of presenting Mornings on ABC 702 Sydney in 2008, which she continued for four more years, before going to work for a communication consultancy.
She is survived by two children and her husband.
