And the Oscar frock winner is ….

For best frock at the Oscars, we can’t go past the amazing Ms Meryl Streep in red. She wore it well, upswept do, plunging neckline and drop-dead smile. A great reminder of how hot a 68-year-old can look when they hit the town.

Pick#2
Best supporting actress Alison Jenney, who won an Oscar for her role as Tonya’s sharp tongued mother in ‘I, Tonya’, was also svelte and stylish in red.

Pick#3
Helen Mirren killed it in the simplest slate blue – some said cornflower, but we beg to differ. Ms Mirren was photographed taking a shot of tequila along the red carpet way. Well, why not, we say!

Pick #4
Saoirse Ronan, star of Indi movie Ladybird, was pretty in pink in Calvin Klein – simple, elegant and timeless.

Pick #5
And the Oopsie award was hotly contested by both Nicole Kidman (a walking gift wrap)

and  Taraji P. Henson (way too much flesh).

In both cases we wonder, out loud, What WAS she thinking????

And will let you decide which outfit was worse.

Now that's class Sophie!!!

Not the slightest bit interested in these plastic, know nothing people living in a fake world who have turned the Oscars into a political statement.

I think the Oscars have always been a political statement - something about know-nothing people living in a fake world - and if the statement now addresses a real-world issue that must be a good thing.

Who cares? It's all a load of Tinsel-town crap!

GIVES A NEW MEANING TO THE NEW BUZZWORD: FAKE NEWS!  COS IT IS ALL FAKE!

Meryl Streep - back to the 1960s in the most ghastly of ghastlies.

Alison Jenny in red - those sleeves would drive me crazy all night and after a few drinks would present a real tripping hazard.

Helen Mirren - another tripping danger. Note how she’s holding it up - did she have to do that all night?

Saoirse Ronan - anaemic in pink. Sitting on that big bustle all night might have been a tad uncomfortable...

Nicole Kidman - oh woe!

Taraji P Henson - gee, she looks just like Nicole Kidman. What a shame all the guys on here didn’t get to see the “way too much flesh” spectacle ha ha.

All that said, I have to agree with others about the “tinsel town” crap. No interest really in any of their over-inflated fashion statements.

Saoirse Ronan should  have her natural brown hair with that pink dress

Thought the bustle at the back

could be rolled up to make a comfy pillow when seated  ;)

Hideous event 'The Oscars' surely the world has moved beyond this red carpet BS...

Gary Oldman as Churchill a worthy winner but the exploitative sad Hollywood side show that is the Oscars is waaaay past its use by date....and most know what they like or don't like without all this other crap .

Would warm to Jane Fonda a lot more  - a pretty ordinary actress IMO - if she stayed away from the plastic surgery and just aged naturally..

Oh dear, can they please keep all their BS to themselves?  The best dress award??? Seriously???

Don't know about you lot, but I got a few ideas for my next new frock LOL

Quick look on the net today and the ladies all look great! But what about the men? Don't they deserve a mention? This guy's suit shrunk while waiting for someone to give him the nod LOL

Hey Reagan my friend, you're no fashion guru ! That look is the new thang on the catwalks. Too close fitting for my liking but I bet it cost a few bucks!

MERYL STREET,  [who i cant stand]    again looked a frump,     NICOLE KIDMAN ,   never gets it right,   she wears some real horrors,     best one out of those on this page,   is ASHLEY JUDD,   imo,     always elegant and ladylike,      she is lovely,    and surpise surpries,    SHE CAN ACT,
