Biggest 'supermoon' of the 21st century rises on 14 November

What are your plans on the evening of Monday 14 November? You might want to cancel them – or at least schedule them to be held outdoors. The biggest ‘supermoon’ of the century is set to illuminate the night sky.

If the sky is clear, you can expect to see the biggest and brightest moon in nearly 70 years. It will be the closest the moon has been to Earth since 26 January 1948.

According to NASA, "The full moon of November 14 is not only the closest full moon of 2016 but also the closest full moon to date in the 21st century.”

With NASA saying it could arguably even be called an ‘extra-supermoon’, you definitely won’t want to miss out. It won’t put on a show like this again until late 2034. So keep an eye to the sky, folks!
