It seems strange to me that we have so much regulation and scrutiny re medicines before they are allowed in the country and so little regulation of supplements.

I had a visit some time ago with a locum doctor who lectured me on the values of other than traditional meds and prescribed a 'natural' remedy/supplement instead of regular medication. Fair enough, thought I, it may have been an accepted natural treatment for the ailment I had. However, thought I'd just check it out first via the internet first (as I also do with any changes to my regular medications).

Flipping he** ... the stuff was deadly with very minor errors in dosage and conflicted with a wide range of regular meds. Trashed it and went to another doctor.

I swear by my multi vitamins.

The one I take has a good ammount of beta carotene.

My eye sight is good some days and need glasses on another. If I make sure to take my multi for a few days it always picks up*
